Cardio-metabolic Diseases
What are they?

A group of lifestyle diseases. The risk factors for them include abdominal obesity, high fasting triglycerides, low ‘good’ HDL cholesterol, elevated blood pressure, and combined together are referred to as Cardiometabolic Syndrome. When two or more of these risk factors exist, it doubles the risk of heart attack and stroke, as well as the risk of diabetes.

“Cardiovascular diseases include heart attack, stroke, angina (chest pain) and other disorders of the vascular system. Cardiovascular conditions, plus others such as insulin resistance, diabetes, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are also included. These diseases have a number of risk factors in common.”
- Jose Ordovas, PhD, Director of Nutrition & Genomics Research Lab at Tufts’ HNRCA
Treatment – The Conventional Way

High blood glucose levels, high blood pressure, and lipid cholesterol abnormalities, if detected early can be treated with lifestyle measures. However, some people might be put on medication for some aspects of metabolic syndrome. Metformin, statins and hypersensitive drugs are prescribed for conditions such as high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes.
Lifestyle correction measures are usually advised and these include:

-
Eating a “heart healthy diet” which is low in sugar, high in good fat, low net carbs and salt to control diabetes, blood pressure and lipids.
-
Doing regular exercises in shorter but frequent bursts score over an hour plus of walking.
-
Avoid smoking and reduce alcohol intake.

Treatment – The Functional Way

Cardiometabolic diseases are treated primarily by drastic changes in lifestyle mainly nutrition – when and what to eat following are the conditions that we treat under our program.

Personalised Nutrition Program
The program is groundbreaking as it is based on the fact that eating plans are not one-size fits all. A ‘diet plan’ will work for you best if its based on your specific and unique nutritional requirements as an individual.
Bio-identical hormone Therapy (BHRT)
Bio-identical hormones are defined as man-made hormones that are very similar to the hormones produced by the human body. Common hormones that are matched are oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone. These are then used as treatments for men and women whose own hormones are low or out of balance.
Neuroplasticity Treatment
Neuroplasticity also known as brain plasticity and neural plasticity, is the ability of the brain to change throughout an individual's life, e.g., brain activity associated with a given function can be transferred to a different location, the proportion of grey matter can change, and synapses may strengthen or weaken over time.

Bio-field Therapy
BFT is a non-invasive therapy in which the practitioner works with a client's bio-field (fields of energy that surround the living systems) to stimulate healing responses in patients.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
In, a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, the air pressure is increased to three times higher than normal air pressure and under these conditions, the lungs can gather more oxygen compared to breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. Your blood carries this oxygen throughout the body and this helps in fighting bacteria and also results in the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which further promote healing.
Detoxification Treatment
Detoxification means cleansing the blood. This is done by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also releases toxins through kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, and skin. Sometimes, when these systems get compromised, impurities are not filtered properly and and the body is adversely affected.
Intravenous Therapy (IVT)
IVT is the fastest and safest way to feed vitamins and minerals, amino acid and other therapeutic substances directly in your bloodstream. IVT has been clinically proven to boost our immune system function. It encourages cellular repair, regeneration, and accelerates the process of recovery. IVT enhances the sense of wellbeing, rectifies nutritional deficiencies and addresses other medical conditions.
Ozone Therapy
This treatment refers to the administration of ozone gas into your body to treat a disease or wound. Ozone is a colourless gas made up of three atoms of oxygen (03). It can be used to treat medical conditions by boosting the immune system and it can also be used for disinfection and treating the disease.
